Acne
Acne is a disorder resulting from the action of hormones and other substances on the skins oil glands (sebaceous glands) and hair follicles. These factors lead to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called pimples or zits. It is commonly seen on face, neck, upper back and chest. The laser emits a beam of light that will shrink and alter the sebaceous glands underneath the skin; these are the glands that feed the bacteria, which cause subsequent inflammation. Instead of drying out the skin or killing germs or drying up the oil production on a short-term basis, the laser actually alters these glands. The result is decrease in oil production, which helps in killing the bacteria. A reduction in lesion count may be seen after the first treatment and may continue to be seen in subsequent lesions. It will help to stimulate the underlying collagen to grow more and fill in the scar. The treatment is non-ablative and there is virtually no risk or downtime |
