Periodental disease (Inflamatory disease of the gingival)
Periodontal disease is a progressive inflammatory
disease of the gingival and the surrounding tissue
(bone) around the teeth. It is one of the disease
cause of tooth loss after the age of 30. Some people
suffer from this disease with varying degrees of
severity.
Gingival Curettage
Gingival curettage removes the soft tissue lining of
the periodontal pockets in order to completely
eliminate bacteria and diseased tissue, along with
scaling and root planning.
Gingivectomy
Sometimes it needs surgery for severe gum disease
(periondentitis), which cannot be cured with
antibiotics or root planning and scaling. The dentist
will numb the gums with a local anesthetic for
removing loose gum tissue, after removing the gum
tissue a temporary pulley like substance and other
medicational procedure is followed.
Gingivoplasty
Gingivoplasty is a procedure in which we
surgically reshape and re contour the gum tissue for
cosmetic, physiological or functional purposes.
Gingivoplasty is the surgical reshaping of the outer
surface of gums and it's usually done in combination
with gingivectomy. The patients who have a gummy
smile, which is caused by excessive and overgrown gum
tissue, can be connected by Gingivoplasty. After the
procedure, gum tissue will look natural which helps to
expose the hidden teeth. |
