Treatments plan involving Dental Implants are unique for each individual and accordingly the timing , cost and delivery of care will be customized to suit. Just like a hip replacement, dental implants are made from surgical grad titanium/ titanium alloy, which can develop and maintain a close union with bone in order to support replacement teeth. Dental is essentially a substitute for a natural root and commonly it is screw and cylinder shaped. Dental implants will restore your oral health by supporting natural teeth. There is interchange on a cellular level between the titanium oxide and the bone which in turn allows for the attachment. Once it is placed into the jaw bone it fuses with the bone over a period of 6 months and the bond becomes incredibly strong. This is the process termed Osseointegration. Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural.

Implants help to stop bone loss, when a tooth is lost some of the bone in the area may disappear . This is known as bone resumption. The bone loss can be rapid but can vary between individuals. Placing an implant helps minimize the bone loss by stimulating the surrounding bone which then becomes stronger and more dense. Dental implants do not sacrifice the quality of the adjacent teeth ,like a bridge does because neighboring teeth are not altered to support the implant. Most of your own teeth are left untouched a significant long-term benefit to your oral teeth. Dental implants will allow you to once again speak and eat with comfort and confidence. They are secure and offer freedom from the irksome clicks and wobbles of dentures. They allow you to say goodbye to worries about misplaced dentures and messy pastes and glues.

Porcelain Procedure
Only the teeth that show are veneered that this procedure can be carried out on both the upper and lower teeth. Teeth are prepaired for veneers by lightly buffing to allow for the small added thickness of the veneer. Veneers are created from an impression taken in the clinic, the cosmetic veneer is placed directly on your tooth with water or glycerin to verify their perfect fit and shade or color. The color cannot be changed after the veneers are adhered to your teeth. The tooth is then cleaned with chemicals to achieve a durable bond. Once the glue is between the veneer and your teeth, a light is used to harden the glue / cement.

Composite Veneer Procedure
Composite (direct ) veneers are usually performed in a single visit. The procedure is an application of a bond and enamel directly to a tooth’s surface.

Advantages of Dental Veneers
Porcelain veneers are common in creating new smile and smile makeovers. With porcelain veneers, you can have a smile of your dreams in a very short period of time. There is no additional maintenance, other than a follow - up visit to your cosmetic dentist and proper brushing and flossing on a daily basis. Typically costing less than dental crowns, dental veneers won’t strain, making dental veneers a very popular solution for making the perfect smile.

Inlays and Onlays are used to replace silver fillings. These restorations are usually made from composite resin material, porcelain or gold. They are used to repair rear teeth that have experienced mild to moderate amounts of decay. They are also used to rrestore teeth that are cracked or fractured if the damage is not severe enough to warrant a dental crown.

Bridges
Dental bridges are literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, these two anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth and a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics.

There are three basic types of materials for dental bridges:

1.All porcelain dental bridges.
2.Porcelain fused to metal dental bridges.
3.All metal dental bridges.

The all porcelain dental bridges and porcelain fused to metal(PFM) dental bridges are tooth colored bridges. PFM dental bridges are usually used to restore back teeth where the forces of chewing and grinding are strongest.
All porcelain dental bridges are the most aesthetic and are used almost exclusively for front teeth where the need for strength is not as critical.
